Five Purposes
We believe God has called us to obey his calling and fulfill our mission by building our church around five purposes. Each of these covers a vital New Testament function that is essential for achieving a healthy, growth-producing balance. Each purpose is supported by one of our five design teams, with a sixth design team dedicated to Children & Youth.
- Worship—Making visible
the power of God's love through dynamic worship The
heart of the community at Church of the Apostles is life-changing
worship. Our worship is liturgically structured, Spirit-led,
and biblically based.
- Membership—Making visible
the power of God's love through authentic community
The congregation sees itself as extended family offering
love, acceptance, and hope with everyone.
- Discipleship—Making visible
the power of God's love through life-changing teaching
Church of the Apostles is growing disciples of Jesus Christ
through the practical application of God's Word to their
lives.
- Ministry—Making
visible the power of God's love through servant ministry
Every believer is called by Christ into service. Church
of the Apostles is committed to helping prepare people to
serve God and others.
- Mission/Evangelism—Making
visible the power of God's love through creative mission
Church of the Apostles is a congregation that proclaims
the good news of Christ to our neighbors, at home and abroad.
- Children & Youth—Making visible the power of God's love in and through the lives of our younger members Our mission and purpose are not restricted to our adult members. We encourage our congregations youngest participants to join us in all five purposes of our congregationto know Jesus, to grow in Jesus, to serve Jesus and others, and to share Jesus with those around them.
