The Children’s Ministry at Church of the Apostles has a variety of programs designed to bless your family and encourage your child to come into a deeper knowledge of Jesus Christ. Every class and activity is specially designed to meet children at their own developmental, social, and spiritual level.
You are your child’s first and most important teacher. We welcome the opportunity to be in partnership with you as your child learns and grows in faith.
Our Mission
-
To Love Jesus
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. (Deuteronomy 6:5-9)
-
To Know Jesus
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19:14)
-
To Serve Jesus
Jesus said to Peter, “do you truly love me more than these?” “Yes Lord,” Peter said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.” (John 21:5:15)
-
To Share Jesus
“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” (Mark 6:15)
Our Ministry
Sunday School for age 4 to Grade 8, during our Sunday 10:00am Worship Services
Except for the 4th Sunday of the month, Sunday School classes for children and Jr. High Students meet during our Sunday morning services after a brief Children’s Focus in the Sanctuary. Children age 4/5 through Grade 8 meet in the classrooms for worship, biblical teaching, prayer, and fun with friends. They return to the service in time to celebrate Communion with their families.
On 4th Sundays at least through 2009, Nursery Care is available up to age 4. Older children and Students will remain in the sanctuary for the entire service to worship with their families and the congregation. We hope that the shorter service time, the increased participation and visibility of our young people, and the available resources will all be helpful to families and their children as they gain a greater understanding and appreciation for our liturgy and form of worship.
Nursery Care
Nursery Care (Saturday: infants–age 5; Sunday: infants–age 4). Each child is registered. Parents of infants and younger toddlers will be given a silent pager that will alert you should your child need you during the service.
Summers
Church of the Apostles is a great place to be a kid in the Summer! Our Summer programs incorporate scripture knowledge, worship, prayer, service, and the arts of music, drama, and dance. AND FUN! We offer opportunities for toddlers through Jr. High, and our Sr. High Students serve as interns and camp counselors. A schedule of programs and registration forms will be available in the Spring.
