Sundays, October 2nd and 9th following both services
Tokens of Jesus will be available to pass out in your neighborhood.
Halloween is an event that is promoted in a variety of ways. Most of us feel that is one of the darkest of nights and that even acknowledging it is questionable. I faced many an October 31st with my own children and how this is how will spend the evening. As a family we have done everything from attending Hallelujah/Harvest parties to trick or treating with the neighborhood kids. Well, thankfully my children are grown and I don’t have to have these challenging and yet spiritually educational conversations any longer. So here I am faced on October 31st with an evening of answering the door and seeing the delightful faces of many dear children. I want to receive them as the Lord receives them with joyful countenance and welcoming arms. In addition to that I want to offer the kids the “good” candy and a token that shines light into the darkness, a message about Jesus.
I want to equip our church members with some of these tokens as well that we can share with our neighbors and their children. So after both services on Oct 2, 2016 and October 9, 2016, I will have available tokens that you can pass out to the kids as they come to your door this Halloween. I have a limited supply so I encourage you to take what you will need. If you have any great ideas on how to redeem the night please share with me at firstname.lastname@example.org
