Readings: Psalms 79,80, Jeremiah 7:21-34, Romans 4:13-25, John 7:37-52

“Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. 'Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive” John 7:38-39

Jesus own words here harken back to chapter 4 of John’s Gospel and what we heard on Sunday as Jesus addressed the Samaritan woman at the well.  “The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." (John 4:14) His living power, the Holy Spirit, would dwell and well up inside those who believe in Him and call on Him as Savior and Lord. Hard to comprehend it is that simple. Do we have enough faith in Jesus to know his Holy Spirit dwells in us and empowers us to live differently?  Do we live in miraculous expectation of what is now possible for us as His disciples?
