Sermon Series: “A Great Salvation” - An eight-week study of selected passages in Hebrews

Week 4 Sermon: “‘Surprising Grace”

The focus of this sermon is practical in nature, emphasizing the need for us to move toward spiritual maturity, especially in how we welcome strangers, practice hospitality, treat people who are different than us, etc. We don't do this well as a church (though we think we do). We need to get better, and by God's grace, we will!

Scriptures:
Hebrews 5:5-6:3
Psalm 13
Mark 10:46-52

Week 3 Sermon: “‘Foe, Or Friend?”

If the Bible is really the "Good Book," then why do we often feel the opposite when we read or hear it? Perhaps, it is because we misunderstand its purpose, and in the process, miss the One it intends to point us to.

Scriptures:
Hebrews 4:1-3a, 9-16
Psalm 91
Mark 10:35-45

Week 2 Sermon: “‘Today’ Is God’s Day”

What a gift to be able to hear the voice of God! How do we keep our ears attune to Him, and what factors can make us deaf to the sound of His voice? The third chapter of Hebrews gives us the answer.

Scriptures:
Hebrews 3:5-19
Psalm 90:1-12

New Sermon Series: “A Great Salvation” - A study of selected passages in Hebrews

Today’s Sermon: “Looking For An Escape”

The letter to the Hebrews is written especially for people who are in pain. None of us enjoy pain, but instead try to escape it as quickly as possible. But as Lord over all, Jesus does something ONLY He can do. He enters into our pain, and forces it to do good to us!

Scriptures:
Hebrews 2:1-5, 8b-11, 14-18
Psalm 8
Mark 10:2-12
