New Sermon Series: “Eucharisteo! A life offered up, and poured out”

Msg 6: Confession | Rev. Nick Braunschneider

Sermon Description: It can be said that the letter of James is a letter about prayer. James begins by encouraging us to petition God. ["If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God..." (1:5)] He ends by returning our attention to the same topic. ["Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray." (5:13)] This Sunday, we'll consider an often overlooked, but invaluable, element of prayer - confession.

Msg 4: SUBMISSION | Rev. Nick Braunschneider

Sermon Description: Is there a word more hated today than submission? Well, maybe authority...and of course, the two go together. Both relate to power.

We've all seen power misused and abused. Jesus Himself warned His disciples about the danger of power wielded in an ungodly way (Mt 20:25). However, we are often guilty of resenting and resisting proper power and authority. There may be no greater struggle for the Christian than saying "No" to oneself, and saying "Yes" to Jesus, each and every day.

Msg 3: WISDOM | Pastor Ward Davis

Sermon Description: This week we look at James 3 and what it says about the tongue: Our tongue is an important thermometer for assessing our spiritual health and revealing whether we are living according to God's wisdom, or the world's.

Msg 3: Habit | Rev Nick Braunschneider

Sermon Description: It's been said that human beings are "creatures of habit." While we might agree with the statement on some level, it doesn't sit well with many of us. Habits can feel fake, robotic, and lacking heart. People who are highly disciplined in their patterns of living often seem overly rigid, too results-oriented, and "type A" personalities. Isn't authenticity what really matters? Being unstructured might feel more "real," but it's also an easy way to get lost. Habits might just be the very thing your spiritual life lacks...and needs most.
