Holy Week Service Schedule

Just as on Sundays, you’ll be able to join our Holy week and Easter Services on YouTubeFacebook Live, and on the home page of our website.

Palm Sunday: April 5 at 10am

The beginning of Holy Week and the celebration of Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem and his passion.

Maundy Thursday: April 9 at 6pm

On this day we remember the institution of Holy Communion as Jesus shared the Passover meal with his disciples with a traditional prayer book service.

Good Friday: April 10 at 7pm

We'll use the prayer book liturgy to recall Christ's death on the cross and meditate on his finished work.

Easter Sunday: April 12 at 10am

We join in the glorious celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus from the dead and the new life we have in him!

Camp Highroad 2018 Update

Over the years we have enjoyed a week at Camp Highroad as a time of refreshment and renewal for our young people. This summer, Church of the Apostles will not be holding a camp week at Camp Highroad, as we re-assess the role it plays and deal with the resources it takes to host such a week. We wanted to let you all know at the earliest date possible so those who would like to engage a week of camp could make other arrangements. (See Pastor Joe for some recommendations of this if you’re interested)

For our older students we will, in cooperation with Church of the Apostles in the City, Baltimore, and it’s rector Joan Baylor, participate in a Mission Week July 9-13. More information about this mission trip will be coming soon.

Kristin Colligan On Sabbatical

Sabbath Rest

"The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath" (Mark 2:27). The word sabbatical is related to the word Sabbath. I am taking a sabbatical beginning April 2, 2018 through July 2, 2018. As I approached this time of rest, I started making a to-do list. Needless to say, it had become quite a lengthy list. While in prayer, the Lord revealed to me that the sabbatical time was not a to-do list but a list of things I would like to do. The list included visiting family, in particular my sisters who live in Buffalo. I will also be traveling to New Zealand to see my daughter Jesse and her husband Waldo. A sabbatical is often used to spend time studying. In prayer, it was revealed to me that I was going to study as I never had before. I am not exactly sure what that means but I am pretty sure it doesn’t mean with a freshly sharpened pencil and a new composition book.

I am so grateful for this time of rest. I am looking forward to returning with fresh energy, a renewed sense of purpose as well as a fresh vision for the ministries with which I am involved and oversee. During my sabbatical, Abigail Klein will continue as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator, shepherding our Sunday School program and coordinating childcare needs for special events. For prayer needs, please call the church office for a pastoral appointment with Joe or Josh. You may also receive prayer on Sunday mornings.

Yours in Christ,
