Having access to the power to impersonate God (by knowing everything, and being everywhere at once) is quite alluring. This temptation is as ancient as the Garden of Eden, and the Serpent himself. However, what we truly need is not omnipotence...but Rest.

However, there is also the potential for us to be sucked into the screen, and rather than being others-centered, turning in on ourselves. We become like that which we gaze upon. Rather than always looking at ourselves, Jesus calls us to lift up our eyes (John 4:35; Psalm 121:1), and look to Him and the people around us!
